New public square opens at St Pancras

[FIRST LOOK] A new 4,000m2 square designed by Townshend Landscape Architects has opened at King’s Cross

The square forms part of Argent’s 271,000m² King’s Cross development and is accessible from the seven new office buildings surrounding it including David Chipperfield Architects’ One Pancras Square and Bennetts Associates’ new Camden Council HQ.

The design features a cascading water feature which runs the full length of the plaza down to an oak tree at the southern entrance.

David Clementi of King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership said: ‘We wanted to create a sustainable and tranquil public space that could be used as a meeting place commuters, office works and visitors alike. The soft lines and central water feature will help to make this a space which can be enjoyed by all.’
