High-flying architect Mouzhan Majidi started 2014 as chief executive of Foster + Partners and is ending it on his way to Zaha Hadid Architects, where he will work with Hadid and Patrik Schumacher on the ‘next stage’ of the firm’s development.
In February, Fosters announced the shock news that Majidi, who had been with them for 27 years, had left following a management shake-up which saw the position of chief executive abandoned and replaced with a new managing partner role.
Almost 10 months on, that position is still to be filled, although Matthew Streets is performing an interim role.
In October, Fosters released its annual accounts and we learnt that it had given Majidi – CEO since 2007 – a £2.2 million payoff. That should tide him over until the new job begins.
