[FIRST LOOK + PROJECT DATA] McDowell+Benedetti has been given the green light for the redevelopment of a school in Surrey designed by John Vanbrugh
The scheme for Claremont Fan Court School has been twelve years in the making and forms part of the long-term development plan for the independent school.
The project includes outline consent for the site masterplan alongside a new science and technology building and an extension to the prep school.
Further planned construction phases also include a new library, music school, kitchen, sixth form, humanities building and swimming pool as well as restoration works to the listed Mansion, Belvedere and White Cottage buildings.
The school site is set within 360,000m2 of historic landscaped area which includes several scheduled monuments and grade I, II and II*-listed buildings.
The project is set to complete in Summer 2016.
