Ken Shuttleworth’s practice Make has won planning for a new youth and community centre in Bideford, Devon

The two-storey building, named The Bridge, will include indoor sports halls, a café, a community hall, meeting rooms, classrooms, and a youth hall.

The centre for charity Wings South West, sits on a 13,435m2 site in Devon’s area of outstanding natural beauty and its design draws upon the area’s agricultural heritage. According to Make, its concept is derived from a tithe barn.

Make has worked on a pro-bono basis on the scheme - an arrangement set up through LandAid, a property industry charity which matches donated expertise with charities seeking advice.
