Ken Shuttleworth’s practice Make has lodged a planning application for a new 37-storey office tower close to the Cheesegrater in the City of London
If approved, the tower will be a similar height to WilkinsonEyre’s neighbouring three-block Prussian Blue skyscraper scheme at 6-8 Bishopsgate which was given the go-ahead in July.
Replacing the 1988 GMW-designed Leadenhall Court, Make’s proposals will create office space for 4,000 people as well as shops along Leadenhall and Gracechurch streets.
425259 v3 east only
According to developer and project backer Brookfield, ’instead of having a viewing platform at the top of the tower 1 Leadenhall features a free public terrace overlooking the historic roof of Leadenhall Markets, offering visitors views of the Victorian ironworks and views south’.
