Locals squeamish over penthouse work

  • Comment

Plans to improve Norman Foster’s former London penthouse are causing a stink among local residents.

Prior to his move to Geneva, Foster lived above his office at his Riverside One development in Battersea. Now, plans are afoot to improve the property by adding a pavilion, pergola, swimming pool, landscaping and new terraces – adding 563m2 to the existing 1,213m2 floorspace.

The proposals, by Hanover firm Hoffmann Architektur, have gone to Wandsworth Council, prompting a slew of concerns from neighbours. One voiced concerns that the work would cause him to be ‘inconvenienced by the impropriety of staff latrines’.
