Keith Williams chases yet more work in Scandinavia

  • Comment
Scandinavia's ongoing love affair with Keith Williams Architects continues to blossom after the London-based firm was named on yet another competition shortlist - this time in Norway.

The practice is the only British team to have been picked to compete in the contest to design a new 'jazz house' and theatre in the city of Molde, western Norway.

The firm is up against Danes 3XN; Finnish firm JKMM Architects; Paris-based Studio Andrew Todd with 3RW Arkitekter; and HLM Arkitektur & Plan.

Impressively, Keith Williams has also recently been shortlisted in design competitions for Flekkefjord's new Kulturhus, also in Norway, and a maritime museum in Helsingør, east Denmark (AJplus 2/4/07).

Molde launched an invited competition to find an architect to mastermind a new building to house the famous annual international jazz festival.

The new 10,000m2 scheme will also include a library, facilities for artists, residential units, retail and outdoor spaces.
