An exhibition of drawings by Future Systems founder Jan Kaplicky has opened at the Architectural Association

The exhibition, which features the Stirling Prize-winning architect’s trademark cutaway drawings, has been designed by Kaplicky’s former partner Amanda Levete.

It includes work spanning 20 years of Kaplicky’s career, from studies for the International Space Station to the Stirling Prize-winning Media Centre at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

The exhibition is accompanied by a new book which is released on 1 March. The book collates 250 sketches and photomontages from the early years of Kaplicky’s independent practice, 1970s work of Future Systems, and his final ink drawings produced in the mid-1990s.
