Photographer Jason Hawkes has photographed some of the capital’s largest developments currently under construction
His birds-eye photographs show work progressing on the Kieran Timberlake-designed US Embassy at Nine Elms which is set to open in 2017.
The 11-storey cube features a glazed north-facing elevation and a self-cleaning ETFE shell on the building’s remaining three sides.
Further along the river work on Battersea Power Station is also progressing. The massive £8 billion scheme is currently in phase two of its redevelopment and includes work by Frank Gehry, Foster + Partners, BIG, dRMM, SimpsonHaugh and Partners, Wilkinson Eyre and Purcell.
Hawkes’ photographs also show the site of the £3 billion Chelsea Barracks scheme where work has begun on the 74-home first phase of work designed by Squire and Partners.
