Ian Simpson’s £21m Newcastle student housing starts on site

Work has begun on a student housing block in Newcastle by Ian Simpson Architects

The £21 million scheme contains 543 student bedrooms split across two buildings.

The project will be clad in a green glazed terracotta tile laid horizontally with dark blue brick at the ground level.

To the south of the scheme there will be a landscaped courtyard and the elevations surrounding this will be clad in silver aluminium.

The scheme is expected to complete in August 2016.
