A design team, led by Ian Simpson Architects, has been unveiled as part of a preferred bidding consortium to deliver the 2014 Commonwealth Games Village in Glasgow.

The group also features Gordon Murray + Alan Dunlop Architects, Reiach and Hall, Elder and Cannon Architects and Nord Architecture, all of whom are Scottish practices.

The team has formed to support PPD Dalmarnok Village Partnership’s bid to deliver Glasgow’s Athletes Village and will compete against three other consortia – Broadway Malyan, City Legacy Consortium and Gladedale Consortium.

PPD managing director Charles Price said village will ‘create the legacy of a vibrant and sustainable community. Our architects will be developing a masterplan to meet all these aspirations and objectives.’
