Garden Bridge loses its Silva lining

  • Comment

While plans for Thomas Heatherwick’s controversial Garden Bridge continue to inch forward, one of the scheme’s trustees has taken a running jump.

Rohan Silva, former adviser to David Cameron and credited as the brains behind the coalition’s Tech City initiative, was until recently a trustee of the Garden Bridge Trust, the charity developing the scheme.

He has, however, now stepped down after concluding that he needs to give priority to the ‘epic time commitments’ involved in his co-founding and running Second Home, the 2,300m2 shared workspace in Shoreditch, designed by designer of this year’s Serpentine Pavilion SelgasCano.

‘I continue to be a lifelong supporter of the project, and indeed we had a huge model of the Garden Bridge at my company’s opening party’, he said.
