Former Foster + Partners’ chief executive Mouzhan Majidi is to join Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA)
The architect, who is understood to have left the AJ100 top-ranked practice with a £2.2million pay-off following a management reshuffle earlier this year, will officially take up his new post at Hadid’s studio next spring.
Majidi has been charged with ‘leading ZHA’s next stage’ and will work closely with Zaha Hadid and Patrick Schumacher ‘across all continents and project typologies.’
The architect worked at Foster + Partners for 27 years, spending seven as chief executive before his shock departure in February (AJ 24.02.14).
Majidi said he was ‘very excited’ to be joining the practice next year, adding: ‘I have always admired the innovation and beauty of [Hadid’s] work and its growing global impact. It’s a privilege to be part of this amazing team.’
Hadid said the appointment fitted in with the practice’s ‘long-term strategy’: ‘Majidi brings a unique balance of strong management and leadership skills with architectural and design sensitivity that is so important to our creative studio.’
