Squire and Partners unwraps 'bronze leaf' home

Squire and Partners has completed a house in Mayfair, London with a facade featuring 4,080 folded aluminium leaves

Built within the Mayfair Conservation Area the five-bedroom home, incorporates an existing 18th century facade on Waverton Street.

Behind the retained facade the three-storey elevation is clad with 4,080 PPC-coated, folded aluminium leaves in varying shades of bronze that ‘mirror an established Virginia Creeper’.

The scheme, which won permission back in late 2009 (see AJ 11.11.2009), also contains a swimming pool, gymnasium, cinema, rooftop pavilion, and two separate roof terraces.
