Four Bartlett graduates complete Hackney City Farm shop

Hackney City Farm in North east London has thrown open its new £3,000 shop and information point

The competition-winning project by Benedetta Rogers, Julian Bond, Lucy Paton and Sigrid Bylander created a new shop selling plants, fruit and vegetables constructed from locally reclaimed windows.

According to its designers, the project aims to stimulate interest in urban agriculture by displaying plants in a familiar domestic setting. Local residents will be encouraged to ‘buy from our window sill and grow on your window sill’.

The structure – clad in old scaffolding boards – was designed to be assembled by a team of unskilled volunteers.
