Douglas and King starts work on Hackney penthouses

  • Comment

Douglas and King has started construction on this five-home, roof extension in Hackney, London

The ‘loft style’ apartments, designed by the Shoreditch-based practice, are being built ontop of a 19th century industrial building alongside the Kingsland Viaduct.

According to the architect, the design ‘has evolved through the need for a lightweight language coupled with a desire to create an industrial feel to the building’.
