Festival shivers for Gold Medal winners

  • Comment

Cold weather, wind and rain didn’t stop architects turning out in force for the launch of the London Festival of Architecture last week.

With the event held outside, at the Irish Pavilions at King’s CrossCubitt Place, organisers were hoping for the summer temperatures seen later in the week, but were disappointed.

Architects spotted huddling for warmth beneath the Tschumi-esque red pavilion included RIBA Gold Medal winners Sheila O’Donnell and John Tuomey with Olga Felip of Catalonia-based practice Arquitecturia who had come straight from a meeting about the firm’s newly acquired Olympicopolis project.
