[FIRST LOOK + PLANS] Evans Vettori has won planning permission for a new £7million pavilion at Nottingham Trent University’s Clifton Campus

Designed as the centrepiece of the university’s new ‘Heart of the Campus’ project, the ‘pavilion’ includes a new reception, training and study rooms, social and exhibition spaces.

The 2,000m2 pavilion building features a glazed façade with a covered raised terrace, providing a ‘sense of arrival and gravitas’.

The building’s arched roof will be made from concrete and covered in photo-voltaic panels.

The campus redevelopment project also includes the refurbishment of the existing refectory adjoining the new pavilion building, a new teaching suite, and the upgrade of the university’s library facilities.

The project is due to start on site in June with completion on the pavilion building scheduled for September 2015.
