The architect’s view
‘The Lighthouse office development provides a new base for a national insurance group occupying a prominent location on the main route into Formby.
‘We worked closely with the contractor, the National Society of Master Thatchers, and Jhai Building Control Services to deliver the first building in the UK to employ vertical thatching on such a scale. Along with giving the building a bold distinctiveness, the thatch also contributes to the local character of the area with a large a number of traditional thatched cottages found throughout Formby.’
