De Rosee Sa Architects has won planning for a new community pavilion at Brook Green in Hammersmith
The 41m² pavilion is the latest phase of an ongoing programme to regenerate the green and provides a public washroom facility as well as a drinks and snacks kiosk.
The project is being funded by the Friends of Brook Green as part of the community group’s wider proposals for the ‘wonderful open space’ and offer a ‘much-needed public facility and attractive community hub’, as well as new tennis courts and an upgraded playground.
The proposed natural stone-clad pavilion will be situated between the tennis court entrance and the playground. It will be contemporary in design but traditional in form.
The pavilion has been set away from the south of the tennis court fence to create a small public square.
Construction will commence in the autumn with an estimated completion date early next year.
