Darling Associates hunts for new staff as profits double

Darling Associates is looking to recruit 10 new members of staff, after reporting record results including a 52 per cent surge in profit

The Westminster-based practice saw turnover increase by 26 per cent to £6.13 million in the year to March 2017, while pre-tax profit grew 52 per cent to £1.53 million.

It is now looking to capitalise on this growth by adding 10 people to its 63-strong team.

Chris Darling, managing director of Darling Associates, said the results had ‘flowed from the substantial investment’ the practice had made over the last three to four years.

‘This has equipped us to handle larger and more high profile projects, such as Three Glass Wharf, the new HMRC workplace building in Bristol for Salmon Developments and the Lollard Street affordable housing development for Canary Wharf Group in Lambeth, which recently topped out,’ he said. ‘In recent weeks we’ve also secured a series of high profile project with new and existing clients constituting a construction value approaching £1 billion.

‘Despite the political uncertainties, up to now the UK economy has remained robust and our workload reflects this.’

Darling Associates, which has its primary studio in London Victoria as well as an office in Poznan, Poland, was working on 94 live projects as of May 2017.

It was recently shortlisted in the AJ 100 for Practice of the Year, Employer of the Year and Fastest Growing Practice of the Year categories.
