Shapero completes Manchester youth mental health centre

Maurice Shapero, with Bolton-based Bradshaw Gass & Hope, has completed the new headquarters for mental health charity, 42nd Street

The 600m2, £750,000 scheme on Great Ancoats Street, features a wall of interlocking seven tonne, steel-plate gates that can open up when the building is in use.

The charity offers counseling services to young people aged between 13 and 25 who live in the Manchester area and in the main foyer Shapero has installed a pair of ‘Narnia-like’ cupboards which open up to reveal cosy, counseling rooms.
