Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners sets up new studio structure

  • Comment

Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) has formalised its structure into three studios as the practice continues to implement its long-term succession plan

It is understood the Hammersmith-based firm has set up the units ahead of its move into the Leadenhall Building later this year, with one studio led by Richard Rogers with partner Simon Smithson; another by Graham Stirk with partner Richard Paul; and a third headed by Ivan Harbour.

Eight years ago, as part of its strategic plan for the firm, Richard Rogers Partnership put the names of Stirk and Harbour over the door of the practice ‘to reflect the growing importance of the two younger partners’.

It is unclear how the new office space on level 14 of the 47-storey Cheesegrater building will be set out to recognise the new studio structure.

Andrew Morris, senior partner, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners said: ‘As evident from the name change in 2007, Richard Rogers, Graham Stirk and Ivan Harbour share the mantle as senior partners leading the design work of the practice, operating within the ethos and framework of our constitution and as one company.

‘RSHP’s reputation has been built on teamwork reflecting the complementary and diverse skills of the partners. This spirit of collaboration continues between the current nine partners and remains the backbone of the practice as we look forward to our move to The Leadenhall Building.”

Meanwhile it has emerged that RSHP is working with secretive developer the Vinyl Factory on plans to overhaul the listed, 1929 Brewer Street car park in the heart of Soho.
