RIBA has launched a contest to design a social sciences faculty for the London School of Economics and Political Sciences

The New Global Centre for the Social Sciences will be the latest addition to the university’s Aldwych campus where O’Donnell and Tuomey’s student union is expected to open later this year.

RIBA is looking for practices with ‘exceptional design skills’ for project which will provide flexible space for creative research and social learning.

The two stage competition will be judged by a panel including Andy MacFee of Proctor and Matthews and Olympic procurement advisor Ricky Burdett.

Up to six shortlisted practices will each receive a £10,000 honorarium.
