3DReid Student Prize 2012: call for entries

  • Comment

3DReid has again launched its search for the best Part II student in the country

Nominations are sought from all UK schools of architecture for their most talented starlets.

Now into its seventh year, the one of the biggest practice-run student prizes is run in association with the AJ, and has an overall prize fund of £1,500 (see attached).

For the first time schools in Malaysia will also be invited to enter.

Every submission to the 3DReid Student Prize, which is run in association with the AJ, will be uploaded online. The schemes will also be showcased on Facebook to allow the public to shape the shortlist and vote for the ‘People’s Choice’ winner.

David Stanford, Director at 3DReid said: ‘We have been delighted at the popularity of this initiative and are always astounded by the quality of the work submitted.

‘It remains a difficult time for the industry and those coming into it and we hope the 3DReid Student Prize gives the country’s best young designers a chance to shine.’

Last year the prize was jointly won by Liverpool University part II students David Devereau and Elifira The. The pair’s Kogami Tsunami Alert Community (pictured) was praised for its ‘thoroughness and plausibility’ (AJ 28.07.2011).

The overall winner will be chosen by a panel of esteemed judges, again including AJ editor Christine Murray, and will be announced in July.
