Revealed: inside Crossrail's tunnels

Striking new photographs have been released of the tunnels bored under London for Crossrail - Europe’s biggest infrastructure project

More than 23 miles of tunnels have been completed, with these images taken from inside the tunnels under the project’s central London stations (at Bond Street, Liverpool Street, Whitechapel, Farringdon, Tottenham Court Road and Paddington).

Nearly 90 per cent of the project’s tunnelling is now complete, with drilling expected to finish in Spring 2015, and the overall project expected to open in 2018.
