Other entries depict a multi-exposed photograph of a German housing block, a shot of the construction site of Amsterdam’s new metro line and an image of children playing in a cemetery in Manilla.

The photography competition – now in its fifth year – is run by the Chartered Institute of Building, with the winner chosen by public vote and announced on 5 February 2015.
