David Chipperfield Architects has won planning for a new Valentino Store in London’s Bond Street
The practice will demolish the front elevation of the existing building at 39 Old Bond Street and rebuild it as a ‘dual-layered façade’ with Portland stone for the outer layer and an inner of terrazzo.
The building’s existing first second, third and fourth floors will be retained and clad in terrazzo with a timber staircase connecting the levels of the shop.
David Chipperfield Architects has already completed boutiques for the Italian designer in Hollywood, New York, Paris, Milan and Rome.
The project is currently under construction and the new flagship store is set to open at the end of February 2016.
