Book your free place at AJ Specification Live on Wednesday 5 July in London, and hear what architects are specifying for the building envelope
The speakers taking part in this month’s event are Lee Bennett, partner at Sheppard Robson; Andrew Taylor, founder and director of Patel Taylor; Brian Cosgrave, specification manager, EQUITONE; Gavin Finnan, associate director at Maccreanor Lavington and Richard McGuinness, director at tp bennett.
They will be presenting recent projects and products including the striking expanded aluminium mesh fin façade that screens Sheppard Robson’s New Science Building at the University of Hertfordshire; the distinctive articulation of glazed balconies and aluminium cladding on Patel Taylor’s Clipper Wharf residential block at London Dock; and the muscular brick and precast concrete piers to the student accommodation at Cartwright Gardens by Maccreanor Lavington with tp bennett.
The speakers will explain their design thinking and what informs their choice in the specification of external envelope, in a discussion that will look at how the building façade encapsulates the key mediation in architecture between the technical and the aesthetic.
The talks will be followed by a Q+A session and networking drinks. AJ Specification Live is a series of free talks providing in-depth information in the design and specification of building components and construction methods.
