A BDP-designed events and dining scheme close to Wembley stadium has been approved by planners

London Borough of Brent approved an application for the Boxpark Wembley scheme, which will include 27 food and drink outlets.

The scheme, backed by Wembley Park developer Quintain and facility provider Boxpark, will also include almost 2,000m2 of events space.

It is due to open this autumn and will become the third Boxpark in the capital, sitting alongside venues in Shoreditch and Croydon (see AJ 03.11.16).

Gavin Elliott, chair of BDP’s Manchester studio, said: ‘The scheme is a big step forward in terms of the design thinking, while still maintaining the core attributes of being a great place to eat, drink and play.’

Boxpark chief executive Roger Wade added: ‘We are looking forward to working closely with our development partner Quintain, Brent Council and Wembley Park stakeholders Wembley Stadium, SSE Arena and London Designer Outlet to deliver a world class fan village and street food destination.’
