A culture of mentoring and healthy salaries are some of the reasons why Assael won the prestigious AJ100 Employer of the Year award
The judges were impressed by the quality of the entries, all of which showed excellent benefits, a caring attitude and innovation. Initiatives ranged from advanced leadership training to research awards to the presence of a practice puppy. Even in such company, Assael stood out. Its salaries are generous, with bonuses available; there are numerous activities, as well as mentoring and a determination to avoid a long hours culture. But beyond this, the practice has a truly caring environment, taking mental wellbeing seriously and offering a remarkable degree of compassion and help to staff with problems, even recent joiners.
Assael has bedded into new and improved offices in Putney, west London, while chairman John Assael himself has stepped back from some of his design activities to concentrate on mentoring, teaching and looking after staff. The practice is in the process of developing a new structure to spread its ownership and stakes in the business and is determined to maintain its exemplary and unique culture.
