Arney Fender Katsalidis is this year’s highest-placed new member, entering the AJ100 at equal 59th place
The practice was founded in 2013 and has 42 architects in the UK. The practice has another studio in Toronto, set up in 2017. Together with its Australian sister practice Fender Katsalidis, the firm’s total staff headcount is about 200.
The practice describes itself as a boutique global design firm with an integrated approach to architecture and interiors. Architectural fee income totalled £7.5 million in 2018, including £1.2 million for work in the Toronto office, which recently completed the tallest building in Western Canada: the 60-storey Brookfield Place Calgary.
Arney Fender Katsalidis’s focus is on the workplace, residential and hospitality/hotels sectors. Ongoing UK projects include a 22-storey office at International Quarter London in Stratford, designed for Lendlease and LCR. On Tower Bridge Road, it is designing a curvilinear residential building for First Base with ground-floor commercial uses around a new civic square. It is also working with Allies and Morrison on the 40-storey 100 Bishopsgate tower and on Derwent London’s 80 Charlotte Street mixed-use development with lead architect Make.
In addition, the practice is carrying out research for the British Council for Offices on the future of the flexible office.
