ArchitecturePLB submits plans for South Downs cycling café

  • Comment

London and Winchester-based ArchitecturePLB is seeking planning permission for this cycling café on the edge of the South Downs National Park

The Handle Bar Café project is backed by arts and education charity SPUD – the client behind this year’s Stephen Lawrence Prize-shortlisted Lymington Observatory by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and the 2014 shortlisted Exbury Egg by PAD Studio.

The café has been designed by a group of students who worked alongside ArchitecturePLB as part of a programme for young people aged 11 and upwards and interested in architecture, urban design and public art.

The 86m2 scheme will be built next to a national cycle route and will provide refreshments, seating and a cycle repair shop for passing cyclists and walkers.
