Archio wins planning for £2.1m Somerset housing scheme

  • Comment

Emerging practice Archio has won planning for this £2.1 million housing-led scheme in Temple Cloud, Somerset

The 1,273m2 development includes nine homes, the renovation of an abandoned Grade II-listed pub and a new building featuring ten guest rooms.

The Temple Inn, which sits on the edge of the village, has been closed for several years and this new scheme hopes to ‘secure a long-term future for the pub and restore the missing heart of the village’.

According to the practice, ’the scheme references local architecture including stone window surrounds and the asymmetric placement of windows on the façade’.

The project is set to start on site later this year.
