AJ100 practices vote Norman Foster 'most influential' architect

The firms in this year’s AJ100 have named Norman Foster as the architect who most inspires the work of their practice

The nation’s largest companies placed the 81-year-old founder of global big hitter Foster + Partners ahead of the likes of Alvar Aalto - who he shared the title with last year - Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers and Mies van der Rohe.

Last year Foster was awarded the 20 Years of Excellence Award by the AJ for the practice’s contribution to British architecture over the past two decades. In 2015 his company headed the annual AJ100 league table for the fourth year in a row.

The winners of all the AJ100 awards and the full rankings will be announced at the AJ100 gala dinner at the Tower of London tonight (8 June).
