Foster + Partners and Make are among the six practices battling it out for the Best Use of Technology prize at the AJ100 Awards
The shortlist also includes Atkins, which is set to be bought by Canadian engineering giant SNC-Lavalin for £2.1 billion, and PLP Architecture, whose Francis Crick Institute with HOK was recently shortlisted for RIBA London Award.
Also in the running are Scott Brownrigg, which has its own advanced technologies arm, and PDP London.
Last year the title was handed to HTA Design for its Digitising Custom Build project pioneered at its Trevenson Park housing scheme at Revenson Park in Pool (pictured bottom).
The winner will be announced at the annual AJ100 dinner on Wednesday 14 June at the Tower of London.
