Plans by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) for a major office development in New Bailey, Salford have been given the go-ahead
The 25,236m² scheme at Two New Bailey Square will be the AJ100 practice’s first scheme in Greater Manchester.
Proposals for the 11-storey building include approximately 24,400m² of office space, underground car parking bays, cafes and restaurants and a public square.
The floors will also have a flexible design so the space can be divided with each boasting a private outdoor terrace.
The project is being backed by English Cities Fund (ECf) – a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal and General and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
Speaking to the AJ, AHMM co-founder Simon Allford previously said: ’This will be our first job in Greater Manchester, although we are hoping a bid for a major masterplan in the area will also come off.
’We are keen to take ideas that we have been developing in London [such as the White Collar Factory] to other UK cities.’
Phil Mayall, development director at ECf, added: ’Two New Bailey Square’s design perfectly balances the characteristics of a high-quality, sustainable office building, with an honesty and integrity that will a provide truly unique development.’
Construction is expected to start in early 2017.
