The RIBA has appointed Caroline Buckingham to vice president of practice and profession
Buckingham, a director and owner of AJ120 practice HLM Architects, will provide leadership and support for RIBA members and practices.
Previously she has chaired the RIBA Large Practice Group and is a RIBA ‘role model’, supporting the next generation of architects and continuing the development of the wider industry.
Speaking of her appointment, Buckingham said: ‘I already regard myself as an RIBA ambassador, and this appointment will enable me to further support the development of the others and deliver a programme that is progressive, inclusive and champions what is an incredibly important industry within the built environment.
‘The profession is changing and I am pleased to be part of an institute that stands its ground for its members and encourages the next generation to engage.’
HLM Architects has an annual turnover of £13 million with over 230 staff based in eight locations, including Johannesburg and Abu Dhabi.
