New York’s High Line park completes

  • Comment

The final phase of James Corner Field Operations’ and Diller Scofidio + Renfro’s High Line park in New York has completed

The third and final section of the elevated walkway extends the world famous regeneration project – which has transformed a derelict overhead railway into a new linear park – from West 30th Street all the way to West 34th Street.

The newly completed addition takes visitors through New York’s Hudson Yards where KPF has masterplanned a series of new skyscrapers rising up to 374 metres in height.

A new children’s play area featuring silicone-coated structural beams and a cement and clay installation by Argentinian artist Adrián Villar Rojas have also been included in the project.

The first phase of the High Line completed in 2009 and the second phase was opened two years later.
