Michael Holms Coats
TROLLEY studio EC1V 7ET London
Michael grew up in the west of Scotland and took an honours degree in Philosophy, Politics + Economics at Oxford before taking the plunge with architecture, studying at the Mac, HdK Berlin + the Bartlett. Following a number of years as a project architect with internationally-renowned and multi- award-winning practice, Behnisch + Partner in Stuttgart, working on prestigious projects across Europe, he moved to London and became an associate with Levitt Bernstein - realizing designs for a children's centre in Brixton and sustainable social housing in Kilburn.
TROLLEY began in 1997 as a series of 'proactive events' while he and Katharine were diploma students at the Bartlett and spawned the start-up business, TROLLEY studio in 2009. All of our projects are based on strategy, which is more important than sector or building type. To be able to deliver on this, we involve expert project partners. So every project is allowed to have a 'mind of its own'.
great to have someone speaking out with good sense and energy to tackle and change the culture of procurement - though I do acknowledge the cautionary advice from comments above ...
