There is something about the Roundhouse, venue for the Stirling prize for the second year running, that brings out nostalgic memories in people of a certain age. But RIBA president Sunand Prasad
, conducting his first Stirling Prize, capped them all. He recalled that he had organised some sitar concerts there in the 1970s, making the stages from scaffold poles and struts ‘borrowed’ from building sites on which he was working. But that paled into insignificance compared to the escapades Sunand’s now wife, Sue Francis
. She actually lived in a bus in the Roundhouse car park. ‘But that was with somebody else,’ admitted the president with a hint of regret.
