19.10.17: RIBA Stirling Prize 2017

  • Comment

The latest AJ celebrates this year’s six Stirling Prize finalists, with building studies of Amin Taha’s Barrett’s Grove housing; RSHP’s British Museum extension; Reiach and Hall and Michael Laird’s City of Glasgow College City Campus; Baynes and Mitchell’s Command of the Oceans visitor centre; dRMM’s Hastings Pier; and 6a’s photography studio for Juergen Teller. Each study has photographs, drawings, a materials board, a critical appraisal and the architect’s own account of how they built the project. We also ask past winners how picking up the Stirling affected their practice. And there’s a free colouring book of the shortlisted projects with every copy! PLUS Top clients tell us what they really want from architects; the shortlisted designs for Thamesmead Library; and we pay tribute to London Eye architect David Marks who died earlier this month.
