Lightwall: ecoLogicStudio

  • Comment

The concept of Lightwall reinterprets the traditional massive Italian wall as a thick concrete sponge. Its ability to absorb and filter heat, light and views can be changed and adapted to contextual requirements

In terms of construction materials and processes, some were managed remotely using parametric modelling software, a five-axis milling machine and light polystyrene foam casting devices. Others were plugged directly into a traditional local manufacturing cycle, situated 20km from the construction site.

  • Project: Lightwall, Turin, Italy
    Architect: ecoLogicStudio
