Landowner puts Kaplicky plot up for grabs in Kent

  • Comment

A 6-acre plot with planning permission to build an eco-friendly home by the late Jan Kaplicky has been put on the market in Grafty Green, Kent

Kaplicky’s London-based practice Future Systems was awarded planning permission for the 600m² in the Greensand Ridge conservation area in 2007.

The practice behind the futuristic, monocoque Media Centre at Lord’s Cricket Ground, drew up a spaceship-like design for a low-rise, five-bedroom home set into the ground overlooking Kent Weald.

The project was approved on the basis of its ‘exceptional quality and innovative nature’ but work has not yet started on site. The asking price of £750,000 includes around £250,000 the current owner has spent on design and planning.
