The nursery needed a new entrance that would welcome visitors and provide enough space for buggy and bike storage
The brief also called for the re-cladding of the existing building, plus a new art workshop and internal alterations to create a reception office, a larger kitchen and refurbished toilets. The brick wall and close-boarded fence give privacy to the children’s garden, while the transparent central section allows views through to the entrance.
Standard metal fence panels and polycarbonate roofing fixed to the Douglas fir structure are an economical way of providing security and shelter.
