Great news. But it's about time and I can't wait to see the planning...!!!
I find Fletcher-Rae's plans for an alleged £100 million waterfront scheme in Liverpool far from impressive.
"No one wants to see this international badge of honour removed from such an important city" AJ says, further down.
So who can explain why "Liverpool is evidently such an important city" that the HS2 schedule happily leaves Liverpool and Lime Street Station entirely out of Britain's future West Coast rail system plans...???
Tall buildings are what can almost certainly set-off Liverpool to better effect - IOW (much) better visual advantage - than any other city in the UK.
Because, as far as 'Greater Liverpool' - straddling both sides of the River Mersey - is concerned, those "World Heritage Site" folk should pack-up all those fuddy-duddy proposals and go peddle their papers someplace else!
This wonderful news and not before time. If ever there was a city in the UK requiring tall buildings to grace it's already magnificent waterfront setting then that city is Liverpool - home of Europe's first skyscraper...!
