  • Comment on: With six months to go to Brexit, we urgently need a deal on services

I can confirm that RIBA has been engaging with practices to understand our challenges as I have attended one of the working groups for SME's. The information gleaned from the workshop was then used to inform ministers negotiating the Brexit deal. It was a very useful session for us and I understand for the ministers.

  • Comment on: RIBA ambassadors bid to change student voting rights

    J McRae's comment 21 March, 2016 12:33 pm

It is refreshing to read that this is actually being taken seriously by the RIBA. If it is to change (and it needs to) and attract a younger audience then surely student members must have a vote. They are the future of the profession and change will take time so let's start now.

  • Comment on: Women architects paid a quarter less than men

    J McRae's comment 23 April, 2014 8:19 am

If this survey is correct then I would like to understand which architectural practices still believe this is acceptable. It seems unthinkable that a supposedly forward thinking profession still acts like this. As laurel and hardy would say 'that's another fine mess you got me into'

  • Comment on: You asked for it. We built it. The AJ is now on iPad

    J McRae's comment 31 October, 2012 12:49 pm

I have been using the iPad app for the past couple of weeks and it is very good. It is easy to navigate, intuitive and projects the AJ brand well although I hope a positive repsonse to the app doesn't mean the phasing out of the printed magazine.
