Madness, mayhem and money were all in plentiful supply as the great property festival Mipim took place in Cannes last week, with the usual fleet of British developers, agents, architects, lawyers and funders flying in from all quarters (mainly Luton). Astragal noticed Piers Gough, Ken Shuttleworth, John Bevan and Lyn Edwards from gmw, Mark Way from rmjm, Jack Pringle, Jon Assael, Tony Harbour and the Gensler Boys, Roger Kallman and Adrian Smith from som, ex-som partner Robert Turner, the Sheppard Robson squad; Roger Stephenson and many others too numerous to mention. It was dramatic for Dominic Boyes of Abbey Holford Rowe, who lost contact with his briefcase somewhere in Nice Airport. It contained a laptop and various other bits of computer kit, plus presentation material. By the time he had found who to speak to about it, the authorities had subjected the case to a controlled explosion.
