Astragal excelled him/herself the week before last and I now rank him/her alongside that well-known architect described in his 'Grouse House' as Sir Norman Fowler.
I am referring to the Rogers/ Rodgers Odd One Out. The answer of course should have been Ginger Rogers because:
1. She is the only female.
2. She is not a Lord.
3. She had nothing to do with the riba.
4. Ginger Rogers never went up the Pompidou.
5. She was the only one to dance with Fred Astaire.
6. She was the only film actress.
7. She was American.
8. Her Christian name is the only one with an 'e'.
I felt very cheated by the selected oddity of a missing 'd', pretty pathetic. Last week's odd one out must be Pinochet as he also has no 'd', whereas the other two are buildings with a 'd'. Then again it could be the middle building, as there is a 'd' in Candela for his University of Mexico laboratory but no 'd' in Fritz Hoeger's Chile House, Hamburg and Chilean Pinochet.

NB: While retaining the privilege of deciding which is the 'correct' oddity, Astragal feels that the appeal of odd one out is that it is open to different interpretations, and welcomes all answers.
