Work begins on Libeskind's Durham Uni physics centre

  • Comment

Construction has started on starchitect Daniel Libeskind’s £11.5 million building to house Durham University’s physics researchers

Due for completion late next year, the 2,300m² three-storey building will house: 80 new offices for professors, lecturers, doctoral and postdoctoral students; an ‘interaction’ space; a research outreach area; and meeting rooms.

Libeskind landed the scheme in July 2013, which will be home to the Institute for Computational Cosmology, after seeing off FaulknerBrowns Architects.
